Take your place in the Society

Joining World Trade Society means taking your place in a worldwide body of peers, a decision that pays back slowly and steadily, the way good company always does.

Two business leaders shaking hands in welcome

Joining World Trade Society means taking your place in a worldwide body of peers. It is the kind of decision that pays back slowly and steadily, the way good company always does. If your company trades across borders, the Society was built for you.

Who should join

The Society is for mid-market companies that trade across borders. These are firms large enough to do real business in more than one market and small enough that a single good relationship can shape a year. If that describes your company, you belong here. Membership is for companies and the leaders who run them, gathered the way a chamber of commerce has always gathered the serious firms of a place.

What to expect

Expect to be welcomed. You join through a chapter, usually the one nearest home, and from that day you belong to the whole Society. You will meet peers who carry the same responsibilities you do. You will gain a way into markets around the world, made through people rather than paperwork. And you will find the everyday generosity that makes a society work, offered to you and asked of you in equal measure.

Expect a beginning, not a transaction. The Society is a living body, not a list of names. What you get from it grows with what you put into it, the way it does in any good company of peers.

Choose how you take part

Members take part in the way that suits them. Some come to every gathering their chapter holds. Some show up when a trip or a question brings them. Some give a great deal of their time and find it returned many times over. There is no single right way to belong. You choose how you take part, and the Society meets you there.

What joining gives you

  • A welcome into your local chapter and the whole Society
  • Peers across markets who take one another seriously
  • Introductions and trade connections around the world
  • Knowledge shared freely among members
  • The standing that comes with membership
  • A way to take part that fits your company

Reach out

The next step is a conversation. Tell us about your company and the markets you trade in, and we will tell you how membership works and where a chapter near you stands. There is no pressure in it and no obligation. There is only the start of belonging to a body of peers who do business the way you do.

If your company trades across borders and you want people in your corner as you do it, reach out. The Society has a place for you.

An invitation, not a sales pitch

Joining the Society is not a purchase to be talked into. It is an invitation to belong, extended to companies that do business the way our members do. We would rather have the right companies, well matched to their chapters, than a long roster of names. So the first conversation is as much about fit as anything else. We want to understand your company, and we want you to understand the Society, before either of us decides.

What we look for is simple. A company that trades across borders. A leader who values good company and keeps their word. A willingness to give to the body as well as take from it. If that sounds like you, the door is open and the welcome is warm. Reach out, and let us begin.
